Features

A card goes into a box, gets a price, goes on sale and leaves in a parcel. TCGrail follows that one card the whole way.

Inventory and scanning

Scan it, don't type it.

A scanner helps but is never required, since a pasted card list or your phone's camera does the same job. Every card is filed where it physically sits, so the stock on your shelf and the stock in TCGrail are the same thing.

Inventory

Each card is kept on its own, at a numbered position in a labelled box on a rack and shelf. Eight copies are eight cards, and a search tells you which box to open and how far in to count. Bulk commons are counted by name, without positions, and sealed product and accessories by a simple count.

  • Scan a stack front and back on a sheet-fed scanner, checked against the catalogue
  • Paste a list with quantity, condition and printing, and a run of commons in one line
  • Five conditions, Mint to Damaged, each stocked and priced apart

Scan & Sell

For the card worth photographing. Point your phone at it, confirm which card it is, pick the condition and the marketplaces, and it goes into stock and on sale with your photo. The buyer gets a photo of their own copy. Nothing goes on sale until you approve it, and if you get interrupted the cards wait for you to finish.

Pricing

Prices that keep up by themselves.

Cardmarket publishes its price guide once a day and TCGrail reads it every night. Your rules turn that into a selling price, with a margin for each marketplace, rounding to .99 or up to a step you choose, a floor for each rarity and a fixed price for the cards you price by hand. When the market moves overnight, your automatic prices move with it.

  • A starter rule set to begin from
  • A calculator that shows every step from market price to selling price for one of your cards
  • An alert when a price you typed has drifted from the market
  • Each marketplace in its own currency

One card, three channels

An example with made-up rules, all in euros. Your own rules decide your prices, and each channel can sell in its own currency.

Marketplaces

List once, sell everywhere.

Your cards go where your buyers already shop, at the price each channel needs, and your stock stays one count across all of them.

Marketplaces

Cardmarket, Allegro and eBay, priced by your rules. Choose a card to sell and it is listed, and when a copy sells, your other listings catch up. On Cardmarket that happens as you browse it.

Your own shop

Cards and sealed product go up in your online store within minutes, and its orders come back into TCGrail by themselves. Shoper stores are in testing. TCGrail tells you when a listing needs your attention.

In person

Your storefront and binder page show what you have in stock, and players send a list from their phone to collect at the counter. Take a box to a card show with price labels printed for it, and it stays off your online listings while it is away.

Orders

Orders from your marketplaces and your shop arrive in TCGrail, most of them on their own within minutes. One picking list covers a whole morning's orders, so you walk the shelves once, and finishing it takes the cards out of stock.

  • Preorders carry their release date on every order holding one
  • When one product in a release is late, hold that line in its own box and ship the rest of the order today

Automation

Automation that does the parcel work.

Once the cards are picked, the rest of the parcel work stops being something you do by hand.

Couriers and tracking

Labels come from the marketplace's own shipping or from the couriers TCGrail connects to, and most parcels are tracked for you. TCGrail checks them every hour and can move each order to shipped, then delivered, so you never open a tracking page. Returns are handled too, and a parcel that comes back is recorded on its order.

Stamps

For Cardmarket letters sent with a post service TCGrail connects to, the stamp that matches the buyer's postage is picked for you, the ones closest to expiring go first, and it prints straight onto the label.

Printing

Select a morning's orders and print every slip and label in one PDF, buying the labels that are missing. They go straight to the printer on your desk, and a checklist lets you tick off the packed stack before it leaves.
